Unesco World Heritage Day
Branding and Website for the First Austrian UNESCO World Heritage Day.
Project Brief
Timeline: Oct 2020 – Now
Client: Unesco Commission Austria
The Unesco Commission Austria approached me to create a logo for the upcoming Austrian World Heritage Day.
During our strategy workshop, we explored the public's understanding of Unesco and its implications for their goals. The aim was to shift the perception of Unesco from a blocker to an enabler, fostering national awareness and enthusiasm for Austria's World Heritage.

The Outcome
I presented three logo concepts and a communication strategy aimed at sparking curiosity and a desire for self-discovery.
The goal was to generate excitement. The result is a tagline campaign encapsulated by "Unesco World Heritage is more than… meets the eye," featuring unique visuals and taglines for each World Heritage site.
Each tagline challenges common perceptions, playing with clichés and provoking curiosity. For instance, for Vienna: "More than cafes and carriages," alluding to Vienna's reputation for coffee houses and horse carriages. Another example is for Schönbrunn: "More than Sisi and a zoo."
Throughout the process, I crafted a new logo, corporate design, web design and development, and the layout and design for the new brochure and other printed materials such as posters and postcards.

In crafting the logo, simplicity and a humanistic touch were prioritized, making it straightforward, approachable, and quickly understandable. The accompanying icon features the renowned Unesco emblem with the incorporation of the current year. Annually, the logo is refreshed to reflect the new year.
